Looking After a Trampoline: A Short Guide
General advice. For anything specific to your trampoline, follow BERG's manual for your model.
A trampoline does not need much looking after. It needs someone to look it over regularly, keep it clear, and replace a worn part when one turns up. What follows is common sense rather than BERG's instructions; the manual that came with your model is the authority.
What to check
| Part | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Safety net | Tears, holes, a zip or entrance that no longer closes, poles that have worked loose. |
| Jumping mat | Holes, fraying or stitching coming away where the springs attach. |
| Springs | Any that are stretched, broken or missing. |
| Padding | That it still covers the springs and frame all the way round and has not split or shifted. |
| Frame | That it sits level and steady and nothing has come loose. |
Not every trampoline has a net: InGround and FlatGround models are sold with or without one. If you find a problem, keep the children off until it is fixed.
Keep it clear
- Clear leaves and debris off the mat and padding.
- Keep the area around the trampoline free of toys, furniture and anything else a child could land on.
- Keep the space underneath clear too. Nothing should be stored under a trampoline.
Wet and windy weather
Do not use the trampoline when it is wet or in high wind. After a storm, look it over before anyone goes back on. A FlatGround sits at ground level, so it catches far less wind than a trampoline on legs.
Replacing worn parts
Replace worn or damaged parts with genuine BERG parts made for your model. We keep them in stock. Ring 01 960 1641 with the model and size and we will find the right part. For how the trampoline should be used, see our safety guide.
Questions
How often should I check a trampoline?
Regularly, and always after a storm or a long spell without use. BERG's manual for your model says what to check.
Can I get replacement parts for a BERG trampoline?
Yes. We keep genuine BERG replacement parts in stock. Ring us with the model and size.
Can children use the trampoline when it is wet?
No. A wet mat is slippery. Wait until it has dried, and do not use the trampoline in high wind either.
What should I do with the trampoline over winter?
Keep it clear of leaves and debris, check it before the children go back on, and follow BERG's manual for your model.
Not sure which trampoline suits your garden?
Send us a couple of photos and rough measurements. We will recommend a size and shape and give you a delivered price. It is free and there is no obligation.
